Olumo Rock Pictures is a Film, Television and Distribution company which has produced a number of documentaries, music videos and 2015 feature film, Beneficence. The company was founded in 2009 and is Headed by CEO Ladi Akinyosoye.
The production section, headed by Labake Akinyosoye, released its first feature film, Beneficence in 2015, starring Gabriel Afolayan and Shaffy Bello and is currently working on a number of upcoming projects.
Next on the slate is LOCKDOWN, an action movie out in 2020.
Set in the fictional Quarterly Bank Commerce bank at Christmas, the film is directed by Ladi Akinyosoye, with a star studded cast including Beverly Naya, Kalu Ikeagwu, Linda Ejiofor, Dele Odule, Kelechi Udegbe, Jude Chukwuka, Bucci Franklin, Harry Dorgu, Tunbosun Aiyedehin, Sola Onayiga, Tallulah Doherty, Jerry Bakpa and others.
The company also has a number of upcoming exciting projects, including an untitled medical talk show in 2020 and a documentary about the life and work of Sir Adesoji Aderemi, the late Ooni of Ife, due out in 2020 in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of his passing.
Their next feature films include a crime drama 24 HOURS and, EBENEZER’S CHRISTMAS, which is in pre-production, slated for December 2021.
LADI AKINYOSOYE CEO
LADI AKINYOSOYE studied Filmmaking and Screenwriting at the New York Film Academy and London Film Academy. On returning to Nigeria he began his career working on Apprentice Africa and followed up by directing music videos and documentaries. He is CEO of OLUMO ROCK PICTURES. Akinyosoye studied law at University of Lagos and Screenwriting and Directing at The New York Film Academy in 2005. With Olumo Rock Pictures Ltd, he has directed and starred in the movie Beneficence, released in 2015, and has written and directed a second feature film, Lockdown, due for release in 2020.
LABAKE AKINYOSOYE HEAD OF PRODUCTION
LABAKE AKINYOSOYE studied Medicine and Surgery at University of Lagos, and practiced in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. She studied screenwriting with tutors including Jeff Arch (Sleepless in Seattle), and Professor Richard Krevolin (USC). She has written two Novels, Flesh and Stone and The Captive of Dreams, a fantasy novel out in 2020. Akinyosoye wrote her first screenplay in 2001. Her first production Beneficence (2015), was based on the story’ Mama o gba’, from her short story collection ‘The Calabash and other stories’. She has recently wrapped her second production, the film Lockdown, out in 2020

Olumo Rock Pictures is currently working on a feature length documentary based on the life of the late Ooni of Ife Sir Adesoji Aderemi KCMG, to be released in 2020 in commemoration of the 40th year since his passing. It is a project with a personal connection, produced by Labake Akinyosoye and Ladi Akinyosoye. Directed by Ladi Akinyosoye.
